how long does it take for our oh-so-useful UN to get with the times and do something BEYOND RECOGNITION of genocide, among other things, in the world. the UN has said this: there are “continuing and disturbing reports” of abuses, including “beatings, arbitrary arrests and disappearances.” but what the hell are they doing? n o t h i n g ! ! !
and this quote states the situation in myanmar clearly:
"By perpetrating what most Burmese felt was unthinkable — the beating and killing of monks — the ruling generals proved that they would stop at nothing to keep their grip on power. People were again cowed into subjugation. Now dissidents worry that the world, after its initial uproar, will again leave the Burmese people to cope with the junta on their own."
let us not think we are ever in a new era where terror does not exist. it is very real. and silence does not mean that things have changed or improved. |

| my dog is the cutest.
we all miss my dad, but my dog didn't realize he was off on a business trip. she thought he was lost/missing. so she decided to go search for him by running through the neighborhood and glancing at windows just in case he would be waiting for her to find him. and of course the journey isn't complete without her being scared shitless by the trashcollecting trucks. |
